Keep Going, Even When Everyone Thinks You’re Crazy

Being consistent is hard. It requires a lot of blind faith. Faith shouldn’t matter though.

Keep going because you found your purpose. Success and accolades do not matter. All that matters is that you’re doing something that is fulfilling.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.

Ignore The Haters

Haters come in a variety of forms. Most of them aren’t in your face. That’s reserved for online commenters.

Haters can come in the form of someone close to you dismissing what you are doing. They may say things like, “why do you do this?” or “Do you think this is going to work out?”

Most of the time, these are people close to us with valid concerns. My rule isn’t to ignore them but to determine if what they are saying is valid.

if the only risk is you’re time and energy, ignore them. Keep going.

Keep Going When You Doubt Yourself

Doubting yourself is a part of the process. Often, when we decide to make a change in our life, we have that initial spark that keeps us going. That spark fades after a few weeks then we get discouraged.

Fighting through this is essential to keep going. Go through the motions if you have to because that spark will come back.

Don’t become great at being inconsistent.

Trust Your Process

There’s a certain force in the world when you know to trust your process. It’s hard to articulate what it is.

It’s the force that is in your heart that tells you when you are on the right track.

Don’t overanalyze this. When we start to overanalyze, we start to doubt ourselves.

Trusting in your process, whatever it is, is essential. It doesn’t matter what system you use. As long as you use something that doesn’t impede your workflow.

There are a lot of productive people out there that market the best system to use to “create a better process.”

Using a special app that’ll save 5 seconds between clicks isn’t going to make you an overnight success.

What matters is that you get down to the work and keep going.

As you learn to TRUST YOURSELF something miraculous happens. You begin to TRUST THE PROCESS you are living and the miracles life brings!” — Iyanla Vanzant

It’s hard to keep going when everyone around, including yourself, thinks you’re crazy.

Stay consistent and persevere when facing doubt and criticism. Remember that external validation and success are not the only measures of fulfillment.

Remember your why. Remember that you are doing something because it is so meaningful to you.

It’s natural to doubt yourself. Trust in your process and pursue something that is meaningful. Even if it seems crazy to others, that doesn’t mean that it has to be crazy to you.

The beginning is always the hardest part. Once you get past that, your new normal will start to settle. The people around you will accept the fact this is who you are and what you do.
