Training & Packing For A GoRuck Tough Event
Rucking is becoming mainstream and for good reason. It’s a fantastic form of exercise that most people can do.
GoRuck is the company to thank for gaining mainstream appeal. I had never heard of rucking until I did my first GoRuck event back in 2014.
One of my friends convinced me to sign up for a GoRuck event a few months after we completed a Spartan Race.
Unfortunately, I didn’t even look at what he sent to me and signed up for the event. I didn’t realize that I needed a backpack and was going to carry 30 lbs of duct-taped bricks in my pack.
During the entire event, I wanted to quit. Every fiber of my being didn’t want to do this anymore. Shortly after, all I could think about was signing up for the next one. This would become a trend in my life as I felt this way about many of the endurance events that I completed.
It’s a good reminder that the things we do not want to do are often the things we want to achieve most in this world.
